| Mitochondria are important energy providers in cells and are involved in key biological processes such as cellular metabolism and signaling. Abnormal mitochondrial function can lead to cellular dysfunction, which may cause a variety of diseases in severe cases. The change of mitochondrial viscosity is an important indicator for assessing mitochondrial function, which is of great research significance. Based on this need, three fluorescent probes BTZ1-BTZ3 with D-π-A configuration were designed and synthesized by using benzothiazole derivatives as the core structure and introducing pyridinium and quinoline salts, and the photophysical and biological properties of the probes were further investigated. Experimental results indicated that probes BTZ1 and BTZ3 respond well to changes in the viscosity of the solution, and all of them exhibit good photostability and low cytotoxicity. In addition, probe BTZ3 can effectively monitor viscosity changes in mitochondria. |
